I was making an ORPG for Warcraft 3 for a while.  Managed to hype it decently, watched people drool and gurgle over some text and no screenshots, then quit.  I used spellbook based magic, where each class had three or so abilities which they could level independently, and each one had various spells.

My plan for spells is that you can choose from around 15ish, which is done from a dialog box with multiple pages that is brought up by typing in "-spellbook".
All the spells, demons, items and ect are all taken from the books, with a little creative liberty in the case of the spells that are obscure.
The spells are rather heavily triggered, as to make them more interesting, and the demons have a fair repertoire of abilities. The higher level demons, like djinni and afrits, can shapeshift for instance.

By Bartimaeus, you mean the Bartimaeus trilogy? Twer good books.

Yes, of course.
Probably my favorite book series, and a perfect thing to make a game from.

Did you know a new one is coming out next year?

That was the best erotic story I've heard this year. Bravo.

Huzah! More books i need to read! XD
Also another good books series to read is the Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, the second book is Catching Fire. As a note an excellent site for books is paperbackswap.com, you can post books you don't want anymore on there, when requested you mail them, you then get credits to order more books, all you pay is the shipping on the books you send out. Speaking of I need to see if I've credits for the last two books I sent out yet.

I read that as 'capatchaloging fire' but the thing is, I haven't touched MSPA in over two weeks.

It sort of gets into your head, doesn't it?

Problem Sleuth made everything (I should clarify: in real life) into a problem to be solved with sheer pulchritude. I wish it hadn't gotten all convoluted and metaphysical to the point where I was no longer willing to follow it. But it nonetheless filled me with joy while I could handle it.

I continued reading it even after it stopped making sense, if only to obtain closure and find out what the mystical Sepulchritude was.

Figuring out how to solve some of the puzzles was a bit odd. However, the author broke most of the really difficult ones to allow thing to progress so nothing too difficult remained. I'm sure it would be a headache to figure out the bus puzzle.

Went to the Wellington pub yesterday, bought four different pints for £10.
And by god, they were tasty pints.
