Zhou Enlai, as the prime minister of Mao Zedong, enjoys a high reputation here.

Maybe it is contrary to many’s stereotypes, a lot of people may not admire Mao a lot, the neutral way to recognize him is the idea of “30% of faults and 70% of credits’’proposed by  Deng Xiaopin, while Zhou, a great politician with high talents of balancing the interests of different groups inside the party and reducing the potential and possible negative consequences caused by the policies formulated by Mao due to his utopian dreams of realizing a communist society as soon as possible, is a near-perfect man in the history that when mentioning the ‘prime minister’ here without any family name, the only person is Zhou Enlai.

By the way, a well-known saying from him—“The public people like it while you don’t like it , what the hell are you! People from Shanghai love to enjoy the bullet commentary, Huai Opera and Yue Opera, why do you want people in Beijing to approve it.” Is widely quoted by the people here to criticize the unreasonably conservative cultural policies today.

He is also a guy who was also very successful during his student career. So maybe his potrait will be arranged the next term.
