The Onion says it will change the InfoWars website into a parody of itself. ' Weird' internet personalities such as Jones will be ridiculed.
Can link source for that? The article I read said they made no comment yet.

Just signed the contract to buy my first house after seven years stuck in this shithole apartment, I'm over the moon. Lovely house too, very much in the realm of happy to be there rather than happy it's not an apartment.

Oh blessed bedroom, let me rest the bosom of your warmth and shelter me from the chill of outside!

Also really nice to get in, blow your nose, and not have it run like Usain Bolt. That's the other nice bit about being inside where it's not literally freezing cold.

yes, NVDA is currently down after 'only' beating earnings.

I took a position in a leveraged TSLA short ETF, this nonsense where it's up 30-odd percent is ludacris and begging for a slapdown.  Tech faltering is a good first step.

happy one-month-since-i-broke-myself to meeee, whoo

Leg is strong enough now that I can get around with just one crutch in a pinch, but not particularly well. I'm not on any pain medication about the thing; it's nice to have a cocktail again (but damn i hang over much quicker now, feels like. surely i'm not eating enough). I start physical therapy in two weeks (should've called weeks ago, alas), and while it continues to be exhausting to live in my own flesh with this big stupid tube of agitated muscle to negotiate around, I know I continue to improve week over week.

I'm tired of the mostly ignorable dull aches and buzzing, and the weird prickling in my hip, or the shifting, squishing, or rolling of meat and metal in my thigh. Of sitting being just slightly uncomfortable if for too long, of all the weight I bear with my good leg, of the fact that my bad leg is still slightly longer than my good leg now. Of time and the world happening outside my participation. Tired of knowing, as I look at my leg, that there's forever-damage there.

But still! In another time, I might never walk again, and instead, I'll look forward to doing laundry and vacuuming today, entirely of my own power. And that's a pretty good thing to be thankful about, eh?

Used the last of my bread and cheese to make a grilled cheese. Previous attempts have failed, either the heat's been too high and the outside's gone crispy before the cheese melts, or the thing's been too low and just turned into a sopping buttery mess.

Nailed it this time, and by God was it lovely. Why does everything that's nice have to be as calorie dense as uranium?

Try cooking with evoo instead of butter.  use other bread besides white.  and -my favorite- only butter one side (the 'inside') and cook the unbuttered side first.  put the cheese on when you flip it

i mean, its always going to be calorie dense but you can do things to help it along

I mean, what's wrong with bread, butter, and cheese, so long as you have something to put it towards?

Hanging the portrait of Jiang Zemin ,the third generational leading core of the Chinese communist party in my dormitory to bless my high score at the end of my term.

I admire Mr Jiang a lot, for his honorable leadership that led China to an era when the economy was booming gloriously and the opening mind to cultural diversity. After watching some old videos including but not limited to the interview of Wallace, the speech he delivered in the USA and some other videos showing his genuine in music and linguistic skills, he inspired me to become a well-rounded individual instead of a nerd or bookworm. I do believe that hanging his portrait would help me gain confidence in perfecting my moral qualities and gaining knowledge in my professional felid, more importantly, the willpower in learning English ( you know, Mr Jiang’s English is so good that awed me a lot though his oral English was not so good, but who cares, haha) Inspired by him I may pass the college English test 6 easily with the complete preparation these days.

During my “exam month”, a period in a term when the courses are gradually over and the examinations are gradually arranged to start, it was a habit of me to complete some decorations, the last term is the Chairman Mao Zedong and that works a lot, the portrait of Mao got lost when I was transferring my personal items to the new dorm this year so I changed it to Jiang, the hero I admired even more sincerely than Mao.

Maybe the next term I will hang the portraits of Zhu Rongji or Zhou Enlai, but who knows, god bless you and Jiang bless me.

Im sure I dont represent all of america, but Ive never really had a strong role model.

I dont follow local politics, and these days I listen to the news more for the stock market and international events than national politics.

We all had to write one or more papers on 'who we admire most' and I picked my uncle.  Grew up with a father who passed early and raised the 8 siblings.

P:  And celebrities?  No, I dont follow most of them

Haha! :D

With my sincere honor to your uncle , a real hero in fighting against the cruel and harsh fate .

Everyone has their own choice about the strong role model in their minds even to me, the guy I admire most is my dad too, a real man who took charge of the rudder of his fate, who has changed the possible mediocre life into a more comfortable life with the diligent hard work and the constant desire for the knowledge. He is a real Julien-hero to me .

As I’ve posted, hanging the portrait of Jiang is just a reminder to me that I am entering a stage when I should give up the somewhat lazier and more negative attitude towards the courses of this term and I should start to review them. I am sure I don’t represent all of Chinese too, but it’s a custom that hanging someone’s selfie or portrait specially ‘the big head one’ always means that the person has passed away.

I treat Mr Jiang as a diligent example of changing his fate with hard work and more importantly, good luck, as he once said that “the success of a single person not only depends on the person’s hard work himself but also depends on the opportunities given by the process of the history.’

So luck comes to me, if you westerners can congratulate others good luck with ‘God Bless You’ I wanna change it into a Chinese version—‘Jiang bless me’ , haha!

I... do think it's like. Staggeringly unusual to have (non-religious; there's plenty of pictures of not-a-jew jesus, ha) political figures framed and mounted stateside? It happens, but it's very much not a common thing and most people would probably look at you kinda' funny if they noticed. Closest to it I've actually encountered in real life is framed copies of the declaration of independence or (parts of the) constitution, I think.

... well, or dollar bills.

Not really part of the culture 'round here, basically. Can't really think of any major historical figures I'd be inclined to even consider that kind of treatment... most of them tend have a heavy dollop of "what not to do" alongside whatever decent thing they actually managed, heh. Closest I can think of is maybe MLK jr., and iirc there were infidelity issues going on there at a minimum (though it's entirely possible I'm getting things confused or misremembering stuff). It's depressingly unusual for someone to hit the history books without being kinda' crappy on some level, blech.

Still, if it brightens your day, it brightens your day.

Zhijinghao, may I ask what you think about Zhou Enlai?

I’ve been reading about him recently, but haven’t managed to ask someone raised in China about him.
