The dog we were watching for a neighbor returned this morning after having been missing for several days, did not feel good telling that old man that his dog got out and we couldn't find her, but it's all good now that she come home and has been returned to him.

Coffee on the PC has lead to no issues. It's dried up it seems and doesn't turn itself on/off any more.

Lucky. A close friend of mine destroyed his first laptop by spilling tea on it. Even after he dried it out it started working worse and worse until it finally shat itself.

All it spilled on was the front and side of the case, nothing went into the main electronics. It started shorting the power button on the front because the computer started turning itself on and off a few hours after it happened, but unplugging it and leaving the side off so it could dry faster seems to have fixed it.

My cafetiere, on the other hand, didn't survive first contact with the enemy.

Getting a good grasp on driving a car. Got all the controls down. It is all about smoothing what I know now.

Man, I am actually driving a car! Decently too!

It's great isn't it? I went from having no driver's license and being terrified two years ago to confident and loving it. I've got two cars and do go karting as a hobby sometimes :>

Happy Mexican Independence Day

Mexican Independence Day 16 de Septiembre – Inside Mexico (inside-mexico.com)
2022 Article describing the holiday

They had two alternatives; either abandon their plans or move faster and start the revolt immediately. Fortunately for our country, they decided upon the second alternative.

In the early hours of September 16, 1810, father Hidalgo, accompanied by several conspirators –Ignacio Allende, Doña Josefa Ortiz de Domínguez– rang the bell of his little church, calling everyone to fight for liberty. This was the beginning of the Independence War, which lasted 10 years.
During the evening of September 15, people start gathering in the zócalo. Many people walk around dressed in typical Mexican dress: men as Charros and women as China Poblanas, or indigenous dresses. Those who don’t own a traditional Mexican outfit, at least dress find something to wear in the colors of the flag.

It was less scary and more stressful at first, but I am tolf that I learned it all quickly.

I will enter the actual driving exam this weekend. There is a course with parking exercises, on a path that is a crowded public road. It is not hard, per se, but it is a bit stressful.

The requirements are strict. If you forget one signal, or even touch the lines or cones while parking, you don't pass and have to do the entire thing all over again. Not to mention you have to finish the entire course within 30 minutes, under constant supervision from your mentor and an inspector sent by the state...

Yeah. They take no bullshit.

The new president of Iran has ordered the police's vice squads to no longer act against women that do not follow islamic dress code.
Slight improvement of women rights is better than no improvement!

It is unknown if the presidential decree will be carried out. The police also still has to listen to the ayatollah, who, not too long ago, repeated that it is an islamic duty of women to wear a headscarf.
