I can do all those things probably for less than $40 out of pocket cost and maybe 90 minutes of time, which includes going to a store to get the consumables.

Falsely accused or the wrong person, I won't be sure until I can get more info on the situation.

There's also the small chance there was some misconduct in the process, and so he was acquitted simply because his rights to a fair trial were violated.
