Adventure mode isn't being cut permanently, from any version. It's just not going to be playable, and isn't being released, this December. It will be back, probably soon.

Next free version will be exactly the same as paid version, minus the paid assets like art and music, as far as I understand. Which means it has both an ascii version of the new interface and is missing any unimplemented features. And every single old version of DF has always been available to download right from the main page.

But yeah, Adventurer mode will probably be back sometime in 2023. I'm still amazed at the fast progress of this project.

Yeah I honestly prefer adv mode. It's like playing DND but your GM is on some pretty hard drugs.

I remember adventure mode from a whole back being about torturing animals until you got a decent weapon + dodging/shield skill. Is it still the same?
