Happy birthday, meth! I've also made the full switch to Linux this year, and am likewise enjoying the experience!

Happy birthday, methylatedspirits!

i bought a poetry today

"I Could Pee On This, and Other Poems by Cats"

behold my new refinement:

Code: [Select]
Elegy for a Toy I Broke

You no longer jingle
You no longer roll
You no longer do anything
Since I had to see what made you work

I can't deal with all this guilt
I can't express my deep, deep grief
I can't believe what a cheap piece of crap you were
Seriously, I hardly touched you before you broke

i believe i will nestle it on my shelf between Kafka's Metamorphosis and I Want To Be Like Stalin

How is that a cat poem? That just describes the human experience with toys.

my experience with toys was more that no matter how many times you bounced them off other living things, the toys stayed in a similar number of pieces

and even if it didn't you could totally still whang it off someone's head

toys don't break, friend, they simply gain wider area of effect

My brother and I used to throw pine cones at each other in summer months in lieu of snowballs. The enormous spiky ones were supposed to be off limits, but nobody follows the rules perfectly.

I broke my favourite Action Force (that's what GI Joe was called on export) figure because I repeatedly bowled it into a door treshhold for no particular reason.

I still feel the shame.

perhaps there is more in common with cats and humans than a lonely poem may imply

i skipped past the ones about being your local overlord and peeing on the veterinarian's notes, as those are probably not things ordinary human people do

This is the most genuine child behavior. This is exactly what kids are like.

I threw a toy wooden train at my brother - who is almost 10 years my senior - and he chased me down the street.

the way your fingertips plant meaningless soliloquies makes me think you are the true evil among us.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
My ship exploded midflight, but all the shrapnel totally landed on Alpha Centauri before anyone else did.  Bow before me world leaders!
