Pretend to be Scottish.
My first instinct was to think of a Scottish accent. My brain's internal "Scottish" accent sounds suspiciously like a pirate accent, and I've just never checked. They're similar enough to me, that I've merged one into the other. A testament to my non-existent/highly-selective memory, I'd say.

I wouldn't know how to wear a skirt, but sure, I'll try.

Pretend to be Scottish.
Then all you need to do is learn to play the bagpipes.

Why isn't "bagpipe" used as an euphemism more often

I feel like this is highly dependent on the Scottish people you've been exposed to. I might do a pirate accent based on a stereotypical Scottish accent, but if I actually think of what I'd expect from a Scot it's always very non piratical. Possibly because I mostly think of a soft spoken gentleman and a barely comprehensible granny...

Not at all. In fact, the only famous Scottish pirate I know of was Captain Kidd, and historians are divided on whether he had actually ever done any pirating on purpose.

I'm sorry, how do you engage in piracy by accident?

As I understand it, he had been granted letters of marque by the English crown to privateer against French vessels, England being at war with France at the time; but he accidentally took a French ship that was currently being captained by an Englishman, which the English government decided was piracy since he had no legal right to go attacking English captains. Given that the ship was French, sailing under French colors, this seems a bit unfair.

Edit: It's important to remember that privateers are not pirates, though the two can be conflated in the popular culture: privateers are basically sea mercenaries and perfectly legal.

The change in sunlight + antidepressants combo is doing me a lot of good. Mind you, I've been on the pills since last summer, but I'm continuing to see improvement week-by-week in mood & whatnot. And waking up to warmth and not shivering in the morning is really nice.

I'm going to do exactly one charity stream update. We've already hit $600+ in under 2 hours. Our goal was $400. For an 8 hour stream. We've got the point of just making shit up for incentives. It's glorious chaos.

Finaledit: We hit the $1k mark, guys. I'm so excited.

I'm curious as to how a tank would evolve. Would it climb out of the primordial ooze wiggling it's track-nubs, feeding on smaller jeeps before crawling onto the shore having evolved proper treds?
