I've seen snow, but only in the distance on mountain tops. Never interacted with it in person, closest I've got is the six-inch-deep aftermath of Natal hailstorms.

Snow is both wonderful and terrible. It can be like a soft powder that pleasantly blesses your day and can be scooped up and thrown around for fun. It can also just keep coming down, get wet, freeze, and just keep piling up such that you have no choice but to stay inside and society grinds to a halt... and if you NEED to go outside to commute to somewhere, good fucking luck.

Weird coincidence, but today I learned the (probably) rarest known fish (the devil hole pupfish) lives in the wild in a single pond in the mojave. Folks have been trying pretty damn hard to keep those few dozen fishies alive.

I've been really enjoying the Witness. I can't touch it without thinking 'this is genius, just genius.' The game is just about solving simple line-drawing puzzles, but it pushes that premise to the absolute limit. My most common complaint with videogames is that they don't realize their full potential, The Witness absolutely realizes its full potential and then some.

Honestly my only complaint is that there is a series of mandatory puzzles that rely on audio cues to solve, and if you're deaf or hearing impaired... well I guess you can go fuck yourself because there's no other clues. The game's subtitles don't bring up these cues at all, and honestly the puzzles would be absurdly easy if it did, so the game can only be recommended with the caveat that you need functioning ears to win. To be fair to those puzzles, they're a cool brain blast moment, but I could totally see someone hearing-impaired wanting to enjoy the videogame about solving line-drawing puzzles getting stonewalled at this segment and having to look up the answers, which isn't cool in my book.
