I just watched the fourth episode of the third season of Community for the first time.
Not only have I finally seen the source of that classic gif - pretty much the only bit of the show I was familiar with beforehand - but that was an insanely good episode overall. I had been having doubts about the third season so far, but that episode filled me with glee.   

Oddly enough it was my mother who started watching this show. For some reason I always expected it to be utter crap, only to watch bits here and there and be forced to grudgingly admit that it is actually good, despite my stubborn attempts to dislike it anyway. It's Arrested Development all over again.
I think the shittiness (and inexplicable popularity) of Parks and Rec has made me automatically suspicious of all US ensemble cast sitcoms. Weird.   





Also, congratulations on marriage et cetera, enjoy your domestic bliss and all that.

Yoink, did you see Socity? It’s a Netflix show about a group of high schoolers who find their town empty and they have to learn how to run their own society. The word Community made me think of the show, and I’m curious if you’ve seen it.

Nope, but I might give it a shot sometime since it's apparently on Netflix.
Is it any good? There seem to have been a fair few shows with a similar premise in recent years: big chunk of the population disappearing all of a sudden and those that remain having to come to terms with the situation.

Trippier, eh? Hopefully not trippiness for the sake of trippiness. Some of the earliest bits of season 3 (*cough* episode 2 *cough*) were a bit over-the-top and on-the-nose already, though of course after episode 4 all is forgiven. Actually I don't know, trippy is okay, I just have a bit of a phobia of sharks.   
Well, don't tell me, I'll see for myself soon enough.
