(also, to nitpick-- the kind on a chain is called a flail.  It needs to be on a rigid shaft to be a mace.)

Ah yes, was my birthday yesterday. It was boring and full of work, but I did get to eat way too much delicious mexican food and avoided heartburn, so thats nice.

A book I ordered a month ago finally arrived at my friendly local independent bookshop around three hours ago, and my train is finally approaching home. It’s closed, but as an Employee, I have keys, my boss despite being the most deadpan snarker I have ever met has expressed glee more than once to discover that a profit has been made before the shop has even opened, so I don’t think she’ll mind if I break in. She is known for her Unique style of customer service, though, so it might not work.
