My dad recently heard about Cyberpunk 2077 and sent me a link to the gameplay trailer. We had a quick chat about CDPR (who, much as I'd expected, won the 2018 Steam award for best devs), their lead writer going over to ActiBlizz, and about the hype train that Cyberpunk has got going.

I mentioned, and realized as I mentioned it, that I can't think of a single project which has managed to exceed or even meet the expectations formed from such a hype train... Except for Dwarf Fortress.

Whenever there's a major release, there's always a big surge of excitement around whatever features we've heard about or are assuming will be in the new version, and then when it comes out it ends up being even bigger and better and buggier than we'd even hoped for.

Did Cyberpunk 2077 get stealth-released or something? Cuz it's kinda silly to go, "OMG, 666/69, GOTC," when the game isn't even out yet.

Much less active than I used to be on these forums, but I still visit them on occasion. Will probably resume my activity in full once Dwarf Fortress will be released on Steam.

I grew up eating any animal that couldn't outrun my dad's poacher friend. And whatever we could barely afford from the market. I mostly grew up on spaghetti, Hamburger Helper, Mac'n'cheese, and random poached critterflesh. Salads and vegetables weren't exactly a luxury but most of the time the veggies/fruit was canned if we didn't grow it ourselves. (We had a phenomenal zucchini harvest one summer. We ate that zucchini for nearly a year in every possible format you can imagine. Fried, baked, boiled, ground in with burger meat, bread. Zucchini bread is a thing and it's delicious.)

Which has led me to deeply love both good meat products and homegrown vegetables. Dat garden yo.

I can't help but wonder about the mystery meat; but all in all that sounds oddly wholesome. I keep hearing about your veggie garden, it makes me kind of envious, any leads on things I'll regret not having done by the end of february if I want a veggie garden this year?

Not really. Try and find any deeply discounted pots/soil/seeds. Otherwise, wait til April to do anything. We're probably not doing much gardening this year, my wife says it'd be too much with the new babby.

Probably just cucumbers and grape tomatoes.

Well, we could put two and two together and write a book: "The Shit that Hans and Max Did: You Won't Believe This Shit."
He's fucking with us.

How deep do you plant babies to get a good crop?

Missed a reference there or something, though the missus tried planting turtle seeds when she was a little girl, turns out nearly a foot is too deep to grow turtles.

Try to research where your seed stock comes from.

Ah, so you have to drown the babies first as to prevent growth of weeds. Got it!

I'm sorry is there an assumption that babies aren't pre-drowned?
