Its also nice to be able to walk your dogs without a leash or anything.

And we can literally leave the christmas lights up all year long. Its useful illumination on dark nights

One time I was riding my bike, and I came up on another biker who had his dog leashed to the back of his bike and they were just going together in tandem like a synchronized duo; with the guy in front and the dog on a surprisingly short leash. I made the foolish mistake of riding too close behind them to see, and the dog freaked out and almost pulled the guy off his bike. By 'freak out' I just mean it was scared, it didn't bark or anything, made me really concerned why it was so jumpy and easily frightened, but I guess it could've just been me.

To be fair, f you want anything you have to drive to it. Cars are also expensive, what with having to buy it and insure it and maintain it and fuel it.

Live in a city and you can walk to whatever you want, and bus it if you can’t. Least in Auld Reeky I could do that.

My favourite chippy and Chinese takeaway were just round the corner from where I lived, a little bit further was a pizzeria and a little further than that where I got my groceries. In between those there were at least three places to get drunk.

Earlier today, it occurred to me that I didn't have any Thanksgiving foodstuffs to enjoy this year, so I ate a pickle as my form of celebration.

But then this evening ended up turning into a spontaneous phở outing, and I'm more than happy to call that my Thanksgiving dinner.

You can say that "nothing is within walking distance in the countryside because there is nothing there" but things that doesn't exist in cities isn't within walking distance in cities either either. You can't walk to peace of mind, you can't walk to silence and calm, you can't walk to pleasant people, you can't walk away from traffic jams and overcrowdedness.
