Hmm... Jifodus was active enough in 2007-2009.  But then dropped off to maybe a few posts a year for the next few years.  Then only a single post in 2014 and 2016.  But he's still online.  Neat

I might just see about doing that with that repurposed NAS I have... Install lynx on it, log into bay12 over a "screen" session, and just let it ROT. See how quickly my "time online" statistic goes up.

Successfully started lynx in a screen session over ssh, and logged into bay12forums.com, running on my repurposed nas box.  It should be able to rot for eternity, or until the old nas gets power cycled, whichever happens first.

I couldn't figure out what the joke was because I assumed that offal wurst pun was already present.

Did you know saw teeth used to be cut, filed, polished, set, and stoned or stropped by hand by crazy people and to a less exacting level, their users?

You gotta make sure the little bits of steel are leaning far enough forwards or backwards, that their shoulders are squared forward like a bunch of little chisels or angled backwards to present a row of alternating knives to the wood.

Then you can make the gullet between the teeth deeper and slope further between every other tooth on one side to help carry sawdust out of the cut or kerf, and lastly you can vary the amount which each tooth is bent over from vertical a.k.a. set, so the width of the actual material removed is greater than the width of the rest of the saw blade to reduce friction and keep it from sticking.

Usually you use these little hole punch looking gadgets or tap the teeth with a bolt or some shit, but Paul Sellers had the idea to flatten one side of a screw head with a file and rest it on the tooth you're setting, donk, move to the next one.

I put a little pre-drilled hole to screw the tooth setter into the back of the brace, which itself has a section I can clamp in my vise. I was originally just going to keep the set in my little hobby knife kit when I'm not using it, but hunting it out is dumb, so now it's all in one place next time I go to grab it.
