I'm having trouble understanding what Boner was slang for! Atleast I now that when Iron Man says to Super Man "Looks like you need some hard dick!" I atleast know what he's talking about.

IIRC, "boner" meant "mistake" in the past.

The expression "to pull a boner" comes from the old American minstrel shows. There was a man in these shows who was called Mr. Bones because he carried two small sticks of bone that he used as an instrument. He was asked questions by one of the other men in the show, just to get stupid but funny answers. This became known as "pulling boners." But in time, the expression, "to pull a boner," meant something more than getting an answer to make you laugh. It meant a bad blunder a mistake that was costly. And a man who pulled such boners was often described as a "bonehead."

The "solid dick" Iron Man quote is fake, unfortunately. It's and edit, he just says "solid advice" in the original comic.

I think I know the feeling pisskop. I take everything in my life too seriously. Even the most mundane and banal things, of no consequence, make me think "this is a small event that decides my future permanently. This threatens my entire identity. The smallest mistake will have long lasting consequences." and I'm frozen in fear, and so all too often default to inaction. I'm scared to go on dates, or drink alcohol, or go on adventurous trips by myself, or other things, cause I can always see something go wrong and I can't shake the feeling that that will be the end of me.

Or perhaps that's too specific for what you're feeling...

I'm reaching the point where I want a serious long-term relationship, but I worry about my capacity to do so.

for Many reasons, to include:

- Lower income than others
- Less prestigious job
- An intellectually starved work environment that saps and erodes my own keen wit
- A gap in my own social awareness.  I come off as a silent judge to many people

But I guess I feel inadequate and that because I missed my chance ro develop and mature into a role of 'father', 'member of a nuclear social unit', and even 'long-term friend', my best chance is to act the role.......

If it's of any consolation none of those apply to me yet I have a really shitty love life, whereas I've seen many happy couples in which one or both members have those problems. So it shouldnt be relevant

I'm a slowpoke as always, but the Xpiratez mod really is very good.
Lots of nudity and pinups, but hilarious and surprisingly deep in both backstory and mechanics.  To the point where the player faction of anime amazons (and their kawaii helpers) is just one weird thing in a very weird world.

Jeez, the anti-mutant pogrom though.  Being in a crossfire in XCOM is weird enough, but maybe it was a bad idea to go during the day... rockets were flying across the entire map for the first three turns.  And things only got weirder from there.

Should really try that some time. Only mods I've tried is the final mod pack, maybe a total conversion like that could hold my interest longer.
