So far I've had like five or six silver white "flair" hairs on one side or the other of my chin but I can never manage to hang on to them long enough before I'm back to full black again. I was born with a few on my head but they never stand out as much as the chin streaks should.

So I've a job and it's transcribing \o/ still training but I love the work and especially the company atmosphere because it is inclusive. Also new to the night shift, so it's taking up quite a lot of time x.x and I'm happy it's also pushing my organization skills in both formatting and typing speed/accuracy, and life. Pretty awesome to hear teaching styles of others around the world, and it is amazing to see technology advance to help people like this c:

I'm still enjoying the Pillar Men meme, including the original video.  I'm looking forward to Jojo's bizarre adventures in Jojo's Bizarre Adventures blowing my mind.
But I kinda have a thing with anticipation, heh.  I've been putting off the final episode of Evangelion for almost a week (and I KNOW it's a rushed hot mess).  Same reason I waited a year on Undertale, heh.

Happy:  People dumped a lot of really cool furniture in the bulk pickup zone!  Including a fully intact bookshelf!  Housemate and I carted it in and filled it up, which was a nostalgia trip (and REALLY helped me unclutter my room, tbh).
We also, including yesterday, recovered three separate bicycles - of which we have assembled two complete ones!  We need to buy a saddle and one spoke (and a spoke wrench, or visit my dad) but this is some good shit! 

Inspired me to put in an application at the local bike shop, actually.  I'm constantly feeling left behind by my freelance computer work, which is outside the niche I worked in for so long.  But my time as a bicycle mechanic IN HIGHSCHOOL came back to me as muscle memory, and that felt *really good*.

The final episode isn't really "rushed" so much as it's not really even an episode. It's so much not an episode that you'll watch it and just say "that doesn't count, gimme story". The actual ending as planned is the movie End of Evangelion. So bite the bullet, watch the final "episode" and then fit the movie in.

Just skip the series entirely and watch the Rebuild, then if you love it enough that you're willing to suffer through a worse version go back and watch it.

idk, I didn't like rebuild. I don't think that the original is all it's hyped up to be either, but it's more worthwhile to see the original warts and all than the condensed version.

Say you've never actually seen the Mona Lisa, but someone says to instead see the flashy new CGI Mona Lisa that's a hologram head that spins around against a cosmic nebula background. Sure, that's kinda cool I guess, but it's qualitatively not the same as The Mona Lisa, and seeing the real deal is still better value for the time spent.

Those new movies condense down the character development in favor of action sequences and they spent significant time on a new "sexy girl" character who doesn't really get any development at all, at the expense of screen time for the existing ones that Shinji had actual connections to. It's sort of the point of Shinji that you see him in a range of different situations throughout the TV show. He's basically still a kid (14), and he has kid-like reactions to various situations in between the moments he's shitting his pants and can't deal with things. That downtime is important as it makes the heavy shit stand out more. Just boiling it down to his mental breakdown stuff, which is what a whole condensed movie version needs to do, removes a whole layer of character complexity (especially considering I think they removed several major characters that Shinji had close connections to in the remake).

The main problem is that the're omnibus films packing down parts of a TV show (with a hefty amount of flashy new visuals and plot changes)  going from one to the next. They actually don't work all that well as movies by themselves, so there are much better things to recommend than spending time with the Eva rebuild movies. I'd say those are only for true fans who already saw the TV show years ago: as an alternative to rewatching it, you  can watch the condensed, flashy modern-looking film versions. Rebuild to Original is the worse direction. Those movies won't make a fucking lick of sense if you didn't watch the show. I can't actually see many modern kids watching those movies and going "oh wow I have to go and check out the original Evangelion show now!" ... it just doesn't work like that.

EDIT³: I'll just point out that NGE was a fluke due to the range of people working on the original. Hideaki Anno just lucked out on that due to the right people coming together on it, and the whole thing sort of working despite the chaos and lack of clear direction in the series. What else has he written or directed on that level? He hasn't been able to replicate whatever it was that make NGE happen, so he's now doing a remake of his own work. His other work is mostly working on adaptations of mangas and other people's franchises, most of which is decidely meh, like Cutie Honey, Mahromatic, and romantic comedies. Sure, one romantic comedy manga he adapted was pretty ok, but it was hardly the greatest romcom ever, which you'd expect from a genius director.

A much more consistently talented creator is Mamoru Oshii who directed Ghost in the Shell, The Wolf Brigade, The Skycrawlers, etc. Or the collected works of Satoshi Kon. Those dudes' directorial skill shit all over Hideako Anno's stuff by a mile.

There's nothing really akin to it in Swedish. At least not that I can thing of. I keep coming back to Godahoppsudden (Cape of Good Hope) when I try. Which is one of my favourite names in Swedish because aside from the actual meaning it also means "Cape of Good Jumping) in Swedish.
