Same here. The darker colours are much more comfortable to look at for long periods of time.

Bright color schemes with light backgrounds are garbage, this is one of the few sites that don't get forced to use a proper dark background by my userContent.css file, everything else on the internet besides like, 4chan is grey backgrounds and white text because this isn't paper and it's stupid to emulate it at the cost of our eyes.

I've become fond of a dark brown background with orange text, personally. Sorta' halloween themed. Used to default to dark blue and light grey. The less white there is on my screen the happier my eyes are.

 Honestly I did try darkling and it hurt my eyes more than default so I switched back. Dunno why.

You can turn it off in the Look and Layout section. I like it as a visual cue that I'm in the Upper Boards.

I used to use dark green back with aqua text but like grey and white more now.
