Managed to do 3 push ups.

Previously I couldn't do one. Apparently I've lost enough weight and gained enough upper body strength to actually go ahead with them. Between that and bench presses, I'll at least get more muscles. Not going to be massively muscled, but it's better than having arms that look like particularly fat sausages.

University's apparently doing wonders for my physique. Hooray!

You're welcome in the swole patrol thread.
Question: Do I get to call people bro after that?

Ya sure can bruh.

Ugh... I hate road salt.  It's makes everything gross, environmentally reckless, causes roads to degrade faster, and hardly makes them any better to drive on than a basic plowing does.

Sorry for the double-post but... HOLY SHIT IT'S REALLY HAPPENING.

I've been anticipating this for like 15 years!

Battle Angel Alita trailer

They could very well fuck it up, but for now I'm squeeing over the visuals.

They can’t really plow in the UK though, since there’s nowhere to really move the snow. At least anywhere urban, anyway.

Isn't James Cameron involved? I don't know anything about it but it looks like some kickass cyberpunk chick is going to robo-kung-fu some bad guys and everything I need to know about it to want to see it is contained in this post.

I don't really like the aesthetic he went for with Alita herself, but he seems to be attempting to one-for-one some of the panels.  If he does a good job (and while I'm not a huge fan of some of his work he is an amazing cinematographer) then it could be amazing.  If he botches it, then the film will be absolutely horrible.

Those eyes make me want to hide somewhere. They are a special kind of unnatural, but maybe that is part of the story? I see the obviously outclassed male robot has normal people eyes.

No, Alita is fairly anime but she fit entirely within the world and art style of the manga (pretty much every single young female character in Battle Angel has standard hueg anime eyes), I don't know what Cameron is going for there, and after Avatar and Alita's design, I think he might need his CGI card revoked.

That's so cool! It's really interesting having links to history like that. My father has the ANZAC badge my great-great-grandfather had on when he fought in the Somme, and was shot. Over a hundred years old.

My grandfather had the flag of a Cathedral in England which had bullet holes in it. I can't quite remember the story of how he got it, but it was certainly interesting.

My brother brought it into school, and someone burned it. They were Irish, and it was too British  ::) Bastard.

I dunno - if some redneck brought a Confederate flag to school and a black student ended up burning that, would you be mad at him as well?
