You seem to be taking this quite a lot more seriously than Scriver. Particularly given they opened by declaring their definition of a fruit arbitrary. I don't think they're aiming to piss in anyone's cornflakes, just poke a bit of fun at how casually English (and possibly other languages, in this case) approach(es) ambiguity and redefining specific words in different contexts in a decently random fashion.

Tone is hard to read online.

But knowing scriver, he's not that kinda dude--whenever he adds a to the ends of his statements, its meant humorously even if the reading didn't read out that way. So that's the issue with a bottleneck medium in communication u_u All we got is text. Makes me happy to know him though :3

So the sweet-fruit people are you upstart 13th century revisionists. Which is also born out in e.g. German. "Fruckt" is the botanical term, and "obst" is the culinary term.

Ah, it's more like 'Obst' is the nonspecific plural of 'Frucht'. 'Obst' roughly means 'a bunch of Früchte'. We have the same 'Is a tomato a Frucht or a Gemüse?' argument over here. It is however true that 'Obst' is a decidedly non-botanical term.

Yeah, it doesn't even follow standard German pronunciation rules (since it has a long o instead of a short one) and covers something already covered by two other words (Frucht and Gemüse) that are also in common use.

Apparently, the Steam version of the original Star Wars: Battlefront II has been updated to bring back multiplayer. I'm seeing a lot of posts that it's not quite working yet, but it did just download a 3.2GB update. Could be the servers themselves are not yet up or the system is overloaded.
