Or the bank had a team (and a boat) in the competition!

That looks like hilariously good fun.
Agreed.

Next time someone opens up a competition, I say we spam them with Facey McFaceboat. Much more creepy.

Random mcu Segway, I disliked The Defenders for how it downplayed JJ's strength, what with her meant to be stronger than Cage but Ritter not playing  convincing strongwoman, ever.

Learning that cockroach nymphs can play dead/recover from unconsciousness rapidly. I was so worried that had accidentally killed one when it didn't move at all when I poked at its legs, but a few minutes later it was in a diffrent part of the room, and gone from the spot I had placed it in earlier. I wish they stayed as pretty as adults though.

Interesting detail: this is apparently such a high-profile event that the orca boat's owner managed to secure a bank to sponsor them.

What Yoink said.  These boats, as far as I'm aware, were all built and raced by employees of those businesses.

Looks awesome! What did you call your boat?

My employer is BDP International, so they called it Boat Don't Phloat.

If you want something dead, always double tap it. Always.

In the distant future...

Urist McSergeant: "Command, we're being overrun! The cockroaches are getting through! Requesting a danger close tactical nuke, we're dead anyway..."
Urist McGeneral: "What, a nuke? Say again, Corporal, you sure about that?"
Urist McSergeant: "Just do it! Nuke those bugs 'til there's nothing left! Tell my wife I died for my country!"
Urist McGeneral: "You're a brave, brave man."

*BOOM*

Urist McGeneral: "Get me a scan on that square."
Urist McLieutenant: "No life signs, sir."
Urist McGeneral: *takes hat off* "It worked. So much for cockroaches surviving nukes, heh. A moment of silence for Sgt. McSergeant, then send another squad to secure the area.

Later...

Urist McOtherSergeant: "Command, we're being overrun! The cockroaches, they..."

Huh. All I've seen of that was a simple banner ad, but now I think it sounds interesting. Judging from that single picture the arts not bad. Thanks for the recommendation/analysis.
Thanks!  What I found interesting about the ads is, it's an honest portrayal of how she acts most of the time...  Including during grim combat with her allies getting shot.  She has a really skewed idea of how heroes are supposed to behave.
Update on this! I finished the comic (up to the latest update), and it's frikkin boss. So glad I found this.

Well that made me happy today (:
I have about 70 pages to go still, since I spent the day hiking with my dad.  Which is also definitely a happy.  Walking through rainclouds~

I'm becoming a marine next year, as conscription is a thing here in Finland. That means I can use the gorilla warfare copypasta and mean it, right?
