Installed teamviewer on my computer and bought a bluetooth keyboard for my phone + tablet, so I can do scripting for my minecraft modpack that I'm making while I'm out camping. Its a pretty cool combo and a nice setup.

Just did 3 straight hours of full blast audioshield with 2.5 lb weights on each wrist.

May have overdone it a bit.  Might regret it tomorrow.  But it was fun, and felt really good at the time

Also, this is the first such chunk of free time I've had in like a week.

This year has less slugs and snails. I just spotted 3 cherry tomatoes that will be ripe for the picking within a few days. The rest is still green, these are just early. BUT THEY HAVE NOT BEEN EATEN BY SNAILS OR SLUGS!!!

Idem for my pumpkins. Last year, 3 out of 5 pumpkin plants were eaten by slugs within 2 weeks after sprouting. The other 2 managed to get as far as a pumpkin the size of a marble, before both that, and the whole plant got eaten.

Now my whole garden is green with lush pumpkin bushes. Largest one is already tennisball size.

There are some slugs and snails, but I've been meticulously patrolling and picking them up, and tossing them far over a concrete wall, towards where a couple of magpies have their territory. I think they eat snails and slugs. If they don't, at least the snails have to travel for days on slug max speed to get back to my pumpkins.

Dunno what caused the huge difference in snail and slug population between this year and last. Possibly the period of drought and heatwave we had.

Sadly, thrushes (and their pretty song) are very rare in the Netherlands. Blackbirds used to be THE most common inner city bird when I grew up (even though they are originally forest birds), but sadly they've gone seemingly near extinct over the past decade. I watched it go from "SHOO!  you darn blackbirds, leave the winter bird food for the wrens and robins" to "WOW, I just saw a blackbird".

We do have jackdaws. A huge colony just one street away. I do not envy those who park their cars under their roosting tree. But them lazy buggers don't eat snails or slugs. My best shot is the pair of magpies. If only there were more.

And the biggest problem is the intrusive Spanish slugs anyway, which the native slug eating species don't favour.

We tried building a wall to keep the hispanics out, but it turns out they come with boats.
