Steam says I've played 14 hours of NieR: Automata, but I don't feel like I'm actually very far into it.

The full experience is apparently three playthroughs long, something to do with more of the truth behind the plot being revealed in the two after the first.

It is 6:47am and I already wrote the produce order, culled the department, and set up my vacation first week of April. Oh and ordered my wife her anniversary gift.

Watched Beauty and the Beast; loved how they made the animated film into a realistic portrayal :D

...But:

Otherwise I'm happy for ten minutes of stability of innernets back at home.
And then it'll turn off later while I'm composing another post or paragraph of a PM :I
But still happy with it right now. :-\

Me thinks Emma Watson didn't fit the role. She looks nothing like Bella, and there was nothing really interesting about her acting here, just your average ~lol i'm a princess guys~ thing.
The beast looks like a CG furry thing with a mostly human face, almost nothing like the beast from the original animated movie, which looked far more, eh, beastly, with bigass teeth, big scary eyes and horns. The live action beast also looks surprisingly tiny in comparison, too, not being that much taller than Bella. This detracts from the whole point of the plot, which is bella overcoming the beastlyness of the beast and healing his heart, and when the beast isn't exactly very scary, the whole thing just loses a lot of its nuance.

The only really entertaining part of the movie was Gaston, who was masterfuly interpreted. It was like the actor was born for that role.

The thing about Belle is... Even without her looks... it is her personality that stands out the most.

The best way I can put it is that... Belle has the personality of a really kind kindergarden school teacher. The kind of personality that could tame a beast.

Emma Watson just doesn't have that maturity or overflowing kindness... and frankly very few people could probably pull off a good Belle.

I know it isn't fair to say this... but I think they just chose Emma Watson for the role because she was Hermione in Harry Potter and the director had the idea that they were similar characters.

Well... bookish = bookish. That's nice.

The issue is i can't think of who Would. It's not exactly a Margot Robbie role (Not to assume her range or anything), and it's got to be someone who pulls off 'cusp of womanhood' which rules out a lot of talented ladies.

I mean, it's the first live-action Disney princess. Who's really 'good enough' to be a Disney princess (if the #1 skill required isn't ice skating ability or how to take photos with children without getting ice cream all over your dress)

Not saying Emma was bad, I mean, she's an experienced actress, so she can easily pull it off. But I can't help but to keep feeling that having her as Bella in that movie is kinda like someone trying to put a jigsaw puzzle together and, at the end, realizing that there's one big important piece missing, and instead of searching for it they just grabbed this nice and shiny piece from another puzzle and stuck it in the missing piece's place.

The end result is  that it looks ok, but that one piece will always seem terribly out of place.

Doesn't help that in the one other live action adaptation of it that I saw (there are several, btw), a french one, the actress that played bella was a pretty french girl with meaty lips and brown hair.

Honestly, me thinks the one girl that played tauriel in the hobbit movies would fit the role better, they'd just have to make her look a bit younger :U

My main problem is the conceptualisation of the Beast. I've not seen it yet, only the trailers, but based of that (admittedly sketchy) knowledge, I have to say that they handled the Beast very poorly. It's just like he was....there. No awe or shock or even sympathy. He just was. From the clips I've seen, I think I'd find the furniture special effects and Gaston to be the best bits.

As an aside question to those who've watched it, how gay actually is it?
