Oh boy, Iji updated. Never actually finished it before, so this is a good excuse to start a new run.

Internet, I spent almost 24 hours straight writing correspondence. But hey, it's done now! And... yeah, it's Done done. And having it done, and sent and out of my hands is a big old dumb old weight off my God Damned Everything. I'm wicked sleep-deprived, but I actually feel pretty great? Exhausted yes, but still pretty great. Mostly, my heart feels good and whole again, and I have missed that feeling.

On the side, I even had a chance to help a friend write and proofread their first(?) Resume and Cover Letter. Feeling all competent and mentor-y and shit, too.

Now I think I'm about to go to bed at like 8pm, and sleep for a day. Then I'mma wake up and move some dang mountains!

EDIT EDIT: Okay, got a bit too excited there; had to tone it down. But I just also got an invite later this week to go visit some of my favorite friends in a town I miss dearly, and I'm going to have a new little niece in roughly a month... and I'm just feeling very much at peace, and very loved, and really thankful for all the little good things in my life. I love you guys too. This is a great, open-minded, creative, compassionate, silly, and just very very good group of folks. I'm glad I have had the chance to know you.

I myself am sitting here having previously been on the verge of tears, but... They're tears i'm okay with. Reminiscing about my time at folk high school makes me sad that it's over, but at the same time, i'm glad it's been so good that i'm sad to leave it behind. There are things i'm overjoyed to leave in the past, but this is not one of them. I mean, i'm not mentally stuck back there, but i'd gladly have taken another half year with those people, all quirks and flaws included. Good times, those.

Just submitted my final polished portfolio for my Master's. Just gotta finish off the last few months of this semester, walk with my funny robes, and I am fucking done with academia forever. So glad I didn't decide to go for a pure academic course and shoot for a doctorate, and not just for financial reasons. Probably woulda offed myself before I hit 30.

Whoof, yeah. I know someone whose gone for a Doctorate, and seeing that whole process second-hand makes it seem Pretty Dang Daunting / Overwhelming. Good for when you want to do certain things, but I don't know if the investment is worth it in all cases.

Also, congrats on slaying that portfolio beast, and on your soon-to-be graduation. That's rad, and so are you!

EDIT: Do you get the robes with the hoods and stripes? Those are the best robes.

On that note, apparently we do have funding for masters (whoo!) so the £5000 I've saved up so far is actually now just surplus. Which is good, gonna build on it.
