That amounts to ~$19.50/hr, assuming 8 hour days. Here in northern Ameristan, that job would pay ~$8.90/hr, or ~£7.10/hr, which is the minimum wage where I live. In other parts of the states, it's as low as $7.25/hr (~£5.80/hr). The job I have right now pays $12.5/hr(~£10/hr) and I train retail associates on the finer details of technology.

They put out a shitload of free stuff for The Witcher 3. Maybe they like getting brownie points via free dlc?

Big expansive DLC are priced.

I'll happily pay for an expansion. I feel less okay paying for the 'dragon armor set' or whatever.

Yep. Proper expansion-pack style DLC is fine in my book, where it's purely adding a large-ish amount of content on to an already good game. Paradox-style where you have to buy the DLC to fix shitty design and avoid getting screwed by mechanics that mess with balance to your detriment with no recourse but to use the paid-only stuff can fuck right off. Day-one DLC can fuck off. ME3-style DLC can fuck off. Nickel-and-dime DLC can fuck off.

So basically anything which you would have gotten on an additional CD back in the day: a new campaign with some new units and stuff, a big new area with a lot of quests and items, that sorta stuff. Not paying $20 to fix a broken game, not to buy a couple shitty items and a half-baked quest, not to add any other sort of minor content. The only game where I was ever okay with small DLC (that I can recall) was Just Cause 2, since they were each a buck or two and added items which seriously enhanced how much fun you could have with it.

Yeah. Item 2 on my list would be 'DLC which affects game balance'.

SEGA selling the 'bulletproof samurai' DLC in Shogun 2 was an awful idea. BioWare selling the 'bestest gun' DLC in ME3 was similarly bad.
If you tell someone 'I beat X on the hardest difficulty' and they have to ask 'Were you using the Y DLC?', that's not okay.

Tau has probably the best basic infantry in the game, plus awesome Skyray Missle Gunship and Hammerhead Gunship.
