I suppose my new therapist is working out well. Though we've only had two meetings so far, but I think I've better internalized the idea that the therapist as a person meant to assist rather than directly cure, as a physician would.

Actually, I distinctly remember, I believe it must have been in Middle School, when I saw my first therapist, and thinking to myself "These people are here to enforce social conformity by tamping down any thoughts or behavior that upsets the stability or order of society". And honestly I still get that feeling. Perhaps what has taken me so long is just me waiting for myself to get desperate enough to realize I can't fix my life by myself, and so have to resort to what I can't shake off as a very desperate measure.

Eh, if you find a good one, what they're actually trying to do (assuming that's why you're seeing them, anyway) is make it so you can function in society even if you're strongly disinclined towards social conformity. Being able to navigate the social order without getting shot is part of that, but what a good therapist is there to do is get you where you can do that, and still be comfortable with yourself and fully engaged in whatever bits of you don't fit in conventional venues. End behavior in many situations tend to be pretty similar from the position of the patient, but why you're doing it and how you go about it and whatnot can diverge pretty radically.

I need some happiness in my life. Then I remember that there was a guy in the campus I work at who rides around using a unicycle. Or maybe that was a feverish delusion because of the rain.

... there was one of those on one of the campuses I went to, too. Suddenly I find myself wondering if every uni over a certain size has at least one unicycle person.

And if there isn't, how much funding do we need to get together for an on-campus unicycle riding scholarship and thus correct this grave flaw in reality?

I have figured out how to make fried rice, in the opulent style of the best Chinese food places: the generous use of eggs and crunchy greens. And while our chickens may be amazingly dumb and smelly monsters, they are rather productive.

Deltron 3030 is surprisingly well-annotated on Genius Lyrics, giving me new perspectives on songs that I thought I'd solved. Barely anything I listen to is annotated there, so it's a pleasant surprise.

First calculus project for this term, complete!

This is the second project from this professor to use imaginary/complex numbers, and interestingly they were both extremely challenging, but also both required only four pages for their write-ups, as opposed to 6-8 normally.

My daugher put me to bed last night.

She can't talk, but she can gesture, so she was giving me her favourite blanket, and making sure I cover myself with it (it didn't cover much, but still) and took away my phone every time I tried to pick it up.

Then she took her mom's hand and used it to pat me gently to sleep.

It was adorable.
