A good reason to have different words/names
I've only been in snow once and I liked it… the cold never bothered me anyway

What I meant by my above post is that like with how the Inuit languages doesn't actually have a hundred bazillion words for snow, rather they just bend or attach -fixes to the same word, Swedish too have one word for snow but attach -fixes to it to describe kind of snow in question (with regional exceptions and examples where the snow part has fallen out of use).
