Life has never been the same for me since I learned that 'Restore Session' tabs can contain other 'Restore Session' tabs. Open 30 tabs, forceclose Firefox, do it again, forceclose again... I once had them going like 7 levels deep.

But the general idea is simple: if you have a Restore Session tab open when Firefox crashes, it saves that tab and all its contents (potentially including other Restore Session tabs) in the new Restore Session that it opens when Firefox is restarted. You can then open those tabs and look through their contents, which are conveniently arranged in a list, to find what you need.
In practice, just digging through History is easier and search-enabled to boot, but if you wipe your history frequently, that also works. I dunno why I do it, since I stopped wiping my history years ago, but...

I suddenly regret installing that plugin that made "restore session" tab not a tab. Granted, it did stop that thing where if I double-closed my Firefox after crashing, it would lose the "restore session" tab and thus ALL THE TABS... but the tab matreshka magic? Priceless.

Not that I feel like I need it currently, though.

I never have more than 3 tabs open and I have a bookmark folder for the sole purpose of looking at things I wanted to look at but never got around to.

Whoops.

I tend to have tabsplosions if ever linked to TVTropes, but close tabs as I finish with them in that case.  Interestingly, I tend to end up with two or three instances of the browser, with maybe a few tabs each.
