Brand new mechanical keyboard is shiny, delicious, and every time I press a key it sends colorful ripples throughout the backlights. I love this darn thing already.

I'd seen one of those before, and I thought it'd be cool but the lights would get aggravating very quickly.

"knob" is also a slang word for penis.

Meanwhile I can't get the backlighting on my keyboard to turn on.

I'm glad, then that you can turn off the animation on it, and also program only certain keys to light up (like the ones you use in, say, overwatch or minecraft)

If I had a keyboard with programmable backlights, I would spend hours and hours each day trying to find the best combination and never be satisfied.

For some truly next-level kit there's OLED keyboards that have mini LCDs in each key, so you can show a picture.

If I was to get a neat mechanical keyboard, I'd get a kmac. Thanks to its aluminum casing, I'll prob be able to beat someone to death with it and still have it be fully functional after.

Was gonna say a ripple-lighting keyboard would be pretty psychedelic if you were to get your WPM up.

Also considering getting the new iPhone for my birthday. My 4 is finally starting to give its final coughs and I figure if it took that long for this one to die, the company might be Ok.
(or might have back when it came out, and is now shit, but hey, benefit of the doubt why not.)

A fancy ripple-lighting keyboard does sound really nice. That said, I've often heard mechanical keyboards are supposed to be sturdier and longer-lasting and all that, but my brother splurged on a pricey Cherry MX Switch setup pretty recently, and it crapped out after about a year of regular use. Meanwhile, here I am with the same old crappy Dell USB-Hub membrane keyboard that's survived 11 years and 3 computers worth of daily typing, sandwich crumbs, tea, and other abuse. The volume nob seems to just pick a random percentage between 0 and 100 when I spin it, and even after cleaning it's pretty grungy, but she's a tough old bird.

Only one label has worn down over the years, but the key arguably got better when it did. I kinda want to give it a special macro.

I have two mechanical keyboards - one for work and one for home.  I love them, and will probably be using them for many years to come.  They're quite sturdy, and normal keyboards enrage me now.  Feels like I'm typing on marshmellows.

I volunteered as a street sweeper today. Random passersby came up to me for high fives. I love my hometown.
Even better today: a boy, no older than 9, asked to borrow my 'robot arm' and helped me collect trash.
