I was doing this for an essay which still isn't done, but I just got an email and it's due after a three-day weekend now!

This is either going to be a review fangasm or a shitstorm.

I can't see it being as underwhelming as Civ5 or BE; the summary sounds like they've learned from what didn't work there. If it's as good as Civ V + expansions (which isn't great) I'll still be pretty happy.

Apparently the pre-order is already the third best-selling game on Steam.

Not surprising, really. Civ games are probably the most widely-known and accessible grand strategy. I'll pick it up if reviews are positive at launch (and I have a spare hundred dollars, holy geez that's expensive).

Civ is 4X, not grand strategy. /pedant

Today there was a group presentation worth 15% of the final mark (not much, but meh) and the marker singled me out to say that I may look like a student but I was as good as a seasoned lecturer. He said other stuff on my breadth of knowledge and form of speaking, then said that ours was the best one so far.

Today, I got a SUPER RARE amiibo in an Amazon box. I got the amiibo of my dreams, the Marth amiibo.
Of course, I'm not that into Fire Emblem anymore, but I am still very happy for it! Especially when it was one of the most rare amiibo to find...

I thought Civ5 was pretty good, but then again I waited until the complete edition was on sale and so got all the DLC right away...

Civ 5 is one of the most critically acclaimed games of all time with the expansions lol

and the guy who designed the expansions is the lead designer on Civ VI iirc
