In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Sunless Sea has a Linux build! A surprisingly stable one, at that! That's more for the great music thread, but damn, that Iron Republic theme.
Still, it's a bit of a shame they won't support the build officially. It's a nice build, nothing to be ashamed of.

Speaking of warframe, Inaros is surprisingly great. No shields but no problems, unless you run too low on health buffing your (substantial) armor.

Still salty that they haven't fixed the massive issues that a lot of people have connecting to others.

Unless they did. :I

I can't tell if they have or not, considering that I usually have no issue connecting to other people (or if I do, its just a very stuttery ping that usually collapses into a failed mission regardless, so its no big deal) They did improve things at somepoint a while ago, but that was already mentioned when it happened iirc.

Got a surprising amount of crap done while doing some maintainence on my computer weeks before I get my new one. At least as a means of getting my data and such in a safer place/setup between hard drives before it migrates to a new machine (and to feel much more secure, in case age gets to it first, and it spontaneously breaks, like the last one). But overall, yard looks much nicer, got some things (mostly boring crap I wouldn't want to do later, especially post-upgrade) out of the way and not need to worry about it again for a good amount of time later on; and overall, the house is gradually looking more welcoming again. Good way to spend a day off (including off the computer).
