Discovered a free High-Def version of Battle for Middle Earth.
So I guess even though the Fantasy RTS genre is dead, or perhaps because of it, there's a lot of awesome remakes and graphical mods.
Which is a nice little silver lining.

In the space of 4 seconds (starting from when he unsheathes his blade at 1:39) he blocks a two-handed overhead strike from the ox, gets his blade on the other side of Ox' weapons and pins them to the ground, stops Crocodile from stabbing him by kicking him in the gut, flips that over into an overhead butterfly kick onto Ox's head, flares his tail feathers up as a distraction for Crocodile then promptly stabs through them, which Croc only barely dodges, then does some sort of flip over to the front while including another kick to each of them for good measure. I don't think I've ever seen better choreography in an animated movie.

And then the rhino trumps all that by effortlessly blocking a barrage of throwing knives with a heavy stone hammer and then somehow cuts Shen's remaining knives with the air pressure by pushing his hammer at him - he didn't even touch Shen and he got pushed back several feet.

I really hope Kung Fu Panda 3 lives up to the trend 2 set - it's one of the only sequels I've seen that is better in every way than the original.

Decided to have another crack at adventure mode, the only way I know how.

Secret safe-room inside an old fortress containing full adamantite armor and some ten waterskins. Yes I know it's cheap. But also, I'm still alive.
Strange to be talking about DF in here, regardless.

Hmm. Not sure if I should get. On one hand, that's a sick deal, and I've been thinking of getting into a pen and paper rpg game for a while, except for the costs of starting out.

On the other hand, I ain't got no friends to play with. Or time, really.

You should fill a regular bag with water/booze instead; you'll get 50 units and will save in weight as you don't have to carry extra containers. Waterskins and such are just plain inefficient at carrying liquids, really.

if some bay12 people decided to do a pnp group (via IRC or google chat, for instance) I'd give it a try.

Maybe we could try creating something like that? At the very least a group in which interested people can post and coordinate games?

Last I checked adventure mode meta, quivers were popular to use for this.

Well that's my tiny little mind blown.
Now to just figure out how to 'track' 'quests'.

Maybe the (z) center on event doesn't work if I haven't travelled to that region yet, or doesn't work in cities or something.
Funny how I've pumped almost 10 years into the game and I'm so new to adventure mode.


In other news, played BB2 against a friend. It is not a game which prolongs friendships. Too much random dice-action.
