I don't blame you, mind! I was like you once. Then I took an arrow to the knee played every game released in the West save for Shadow Dragon. I think I appreciate Awakening more now, really. Plus I am now amused by putting together a Spotpass team composed entirely of Sacred Stones characters.

That would be Blazing Sword, then. You should finish it when you get the time, it's a wonderful game; it just takes a while for the plot to pick up.

You might like Sacred Stones a bit more, it's closer to Awakening than Blazing Sword; it has a world map and (optional) level grinding, although it's a bit easier than Blazing Sword (although I'd put them on roughly equal footing if you don't level grind.
