Successfully managed to install my first package from the AUR (Arch User Repository AKA a nifty community-maintained collection of install scripts for Arch Linux software), and hopefully fixed my wireless adapter driver to work correctly.

Now all I have to do is play around with Plasma activities and get a nice theme going. (There's always something to do apparently.)

Went out to an ice hockey game (first one in over two years, IIRC). We were in the very front row, near the middle, so we saw plenty of action. Best part is that it was a close game, going into a tiebreaking sudden death round, and our team came out on top!

Well, the sport originated as a Native American ritual that served to train their warriors for the intense brutal combat of war. A sudden death round makes quite a bit more sense as a term for that portion of the game then "Overtime".

The people working at the subway seem to actually like me because I'm genuinely polite, and I'm pretty much the only one. I really needed that today. They think I'm nice, and realize that's been used against me before and that it sucks that's the case. I'm one of the few people who doesn't yell at them like an asshole. I say please several times, and thank you, etc.

I don't know. I find some of them rather nice, though it's interesting that they are all so very conservative (and would not for one second like a GLBT person, especially a transgender one). It's kind of sad that if I were pretty much the same except in a dress they'd be pissed. [shrugs] The real irony is that they're sorta unconsciously treating me like a girl anyhow, softer voices, using the word "hon," (whereas with other, rude, customers they talk about them behind their backs and don't cease this when I'm around). Go figure.

Either way I'm counting this as a happy thread material instance.
