Alternatively, every weapon can gain XP, and if it sees enough use, will eventually develop a soul of it's own.

I thought it was, well, chaos-ism. Anarchy means chaos...
No it doesn't. It means without ruler or authority, literally. It's been misused since who-the-fuck-knows-long ago, partially because a lot of the time one implies the other, but still incorrect.

I don't want people to get caught up with micromanaging the equipment of their entire army. Plus I like keeping XP inside the soul, instead of as a seperate variable inside the item.

technicallyAdventurer has been seen posting and I had a 90-minute delay this morning.  I think today is going to turn out well.

When did my presence on the forums become a good thing? ???

Mostly because you vanish for long periods of time and that makes Tawa get worried.

Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

You could make it more like a more animistic interpretation of 40k's machine spirits, and make weapons and equipment that are well-used start developing slightly anthropomorphic "quirks" and/or misbehave in the hands of other users or users with certain traits. Normal equipment wouldn't do it, but a gun with an absurd number of kills/long service with the same person, or armor that's been banged up and repaired several times could on some level.

I like the idea of a weapon used long enough gaining traits. Maybe combined with the whole user's-death-imbues thing and have extremely well-used items become capable of XP-gain when a user dies with them.

Or perhaps have weapons get stronger the more users die with them?

You also have to figure out what extremely high item-XP values do. Sure, the original-model AK never jams and can literally be repaired with urine and a rock, but a Springfield still in use from the American Civil War can probably start firing more than once on a load, or hitting things you weren't aiming for.

Gonna make some 2am pizza, you guys.

... I tried making some pizza earlier, but it failed. So I'm trying again.

... Hence, 2am pizza, rather then 11pm pizza.

... It's like it's Friday night, and it's not even Friday yet.

... Well, it kind of is.

... That's the best part of 2am pizza.

Its usually nice to see someone start posting again after a [semi]prolonged absence. Unless they're someone you dislike, but there aren't really any major posters on Bay12 I actually dislike[Philosophical differences on certain topics is another matter altogether].

My hastily slapped together Dr. Horrible costume is actually shaping up pretty good. It might even be ready by tomorrow, which is when I need it.
