Starting off 2016 on a good foot already. Tuesday I start my new job as a Garrison security officer. For my main post I'll be patrolling in a security vehicle, which is cool. I'm very excited. Considering the recent bad news that I have a congenital ocular distrophy that, together with my current bout of corneal infiltrates, is threatening to make me permanently blind in my left eye - my good eye. If treatment goes well, I'll "just have glaucoma" at 24. That made me very sad, as it means I'll never qualify to enter the FBI as I've always dreamed. Still, I can get my foot in the door and end up doing private / armed security for a nice pay, hopefully pay my way through college for a degree in forensics or forensic psychology, and maybe - if I'm lucky - get a job where I can work in "criminal justice" and my crappy eyesight won't be too massive a problem. I'm definitely never going to be allowed to be a patrol cop or field agent of any sort, but I'm not giving up. If worst comes to worst, I can go with my old plan and get a law degree to become an attorney or some such.

Still, all in all, this is a good step in the right direction.

Yeah the skin is practically nothing?  I've had carrots sliced lengthwise and they're easier to eat I guess, but only because they're thinner.  Full ones are fun, I like nibbling around the core then eating it separate.

Can't speak for anyone else, but most things I wash/scrub thoroughly enough that they might as well be peeled anyways, so peeling saves time.

I dunno, I can make good speed with a sharp chef's knife or a potato peeler.

You can peel most things with a decent knife, as long as you don't worry about minor wastage.

I've always had a soft spot for (enchanted) forests, as long as it's day time of course. Forests are spoopy at night, even if there's like nothing wild that can actually kill me here in Denmark. :v (case in point: our most dangerous creature is a tick, thanks to tick-borne diseases)
