Better yet, apparently a team figured out a way to improve the accuracy of that thing, which was the main issue - in the least intuitive possible, by making it bind to DNA weaker, essentially so that it will only attach to DNA it's 100%-no-backsies-sure is the right one because it's too weak to hold on to off-target sites.

Trying to apply for a statistician job actually, because I did a ton of that in my undergrad, and still technically kinda do. Here's hoping it works out.
