Ironically, when I first introduced my brothers to Dwarf Fortress, they actually commented something along the lines of me out-geeking them. Didn't help that I also had a game of Doom:RL and even Diablo:RL going on at the time.

Had the annual family Christmas 'murder mystery' (not normally a murder, but the same idea) today. It's generally an excuse for my brother and I to riff crazily off anything and everything, and since one of my sisters homebrews the mystery every year it fits whatever characters we like. Highlights included my brother-in-law as a dwarf (with impressive beard made from yarn), an impromptu musical number in two- and three-part harmony (when our sister could keep up with our insane noodling), and:

"Ooee, looks like someon's got 'is eye on someone in the kitchen, eh wot eh wot am I right?"

"I'm married! To your brother!"

"Ohh, that's why I 'aven't 'eard from Sven in a few years!"

"Sven?! He told me he was French! And his name was Louis!"

And a few others. These probably aren't funny out-of-context, but eh it was fun.

So I was rewatching Megas XLR, and Jesus Christ it's a ton of fun. It makes close to no sense, there is no consistency or realism to it, but animation is alright, and dialogues are okay.

s01e05 you get to watch giant robot with a car for a head fisting Power Ranger animal-bots, that's for instance.

Counselling's going well! A lot of the stuff I talk about with the therapist is stuff I've already thought of, but it's good to go over it outside of my own mind and thus skewed perspective - already I'm seeing a lot of things I've missed in my own thinking sessions with myself. Hopefully I can improve now that I have a tangible goal to work towards.

I bought a loft bed and officially have a man-cave. Oh god all these floor space to put my junk on.

I may have run to IKEA twice because I had no idea they actually have what I'm looking for the first time, but they didn't successfully tempt me with those Swedish meatballs. Screw you IKEA, I got what I wanted and nothing else. Walmart did get me though with their game section. I needed something to put my 3DS.

Before I was on the forums, I would tell stories about Dwarf Fortress to my brother constantly. Though he had never actually seen the game, he eventually told me that it sounded really awesome and he had to have a piece of Dat Ass. If I remember correctly, he saw the ASCII graphics, quit in minutes and now all he ever does is complain about it.
