Marketing to a different crowd that isn't viewed with disdain by other demographics - a lot of the complaints against him initially were because he was primarily marketed to teen girls, but that age group only lasted a certain number of years before his youngish appeal wore off and they got too old for him. Now he seems to be going more widespread, but with a focus on people around his age, young twenties people. Dance tracks and stuff like that with a persistent rhythm that's easy to move to and get stuck in one's head.

I noticed the 'about nothing in particular' often *are* quite obviously about something; it's just that they aren't using pre-determined topic types, so DF cannot determine what it would be.

I'd guess it's a placeholder until Toady implements a system that can handle procedurally generated topics.

This is a finely-crafted hemp quire. It is made from hemp cloth.
Written on the item is a manual entitled Trade and Other Travesties, authored by Olin Cloisterfrenzy. It concerns the process of economic data collection. The writing shows a hint of tenderness and it is organized. Overall, the prose is passable.

Sounds like a changelog explaining why the fortress economy was disabled.
