Also still need to replace my MoBo but have been suitably convinced that doing so, rather than saving every penny to attend my brother's interstate wedding would be abominably selfish.
Which it would. Even though it's months away, that $200 for the MoBo would be really important for flights, etc.
But, so bored. Never got to finish fallout and spoilers are not something I'm used to having to avoid.

Dawg, TES III Morrowind GOTY edition is available through steam for, like, $2.30 from here (sale price).

And the best part is, I got a licensed copy of that on discs back when steam didn't even existed.

I quite like Elite: Dangerous, even if it does have a silly name and some awful MMO design choices. If nothing else, their way of handling movement tickles me. Realizing that hundreds of kilometers per hour is basically only good for tactical maneuvering, they also give you an engine that gets up to several hundred multiples of c, but that's still only good for maneuvering within a given solar system unless you want to spend a realtime month pointed at another star, so they have yet a further layer of ludicrous speed that bops you across lightyears in constant time. It's surprisingly elegant, and an effective way of communicating scale.

Speaking of MMOs, I've been playing WildStar. It's pretty.

Also, this is probably slightly unkind, but the effect my mother has on people. She's generally terrifyingly smart and has this way of making people feel like she knows how to do their job better than they do (without being arrogant or anything), which is just kinda funny to watch.

Got coriolis forces and everything. If you run one direction, you can jump really far, but if you go the other direction, you can manage a little hop.
