Okay, so I finally got Undertale.
Alright, I can see where all this hype comes from.

Me too, it's pretty fun, took me an entire night to download it though.

How the heck do you even block half a website (the Upper Boards) and not the other half (the Lower Boards)?

There are scripts and browser plugins you can use to prevent portions of a site from loading. Personally I wrote a basic one myself recently that I use to eliminate most of youtube's interface, for instance (all the recommendations, the entire front page, a simple toggle for comments that defaults to hiding it, etc) and some of the stuff on soundcloud. A simpler (but more haphazard and slower in terms of loading) route is to use the plugin adblock, which has a feature for selecting web elements to be blocked (for when it misses an ad), which is what I used before. There are certainly other ways of doing it (somebody mentioned network restrictions, though that sounds strange to me), but browser scripts are the only I can think of.

It's trivial if you run a proxy server (which is useful for a number of other things as well).

I have no clue what happened for GC to take such measures to erase the existence of the game from her sight, but I'm shocked; something REALLY bad, I'm guessing. Let her know we all still care about her well being, eh?

I just feel like making this all official in the open. Since people ask a lot. Heh.

One of her closest friends got banned, that was lordslowpoke. She doesn't want anything to do with this place now because the admin sees negative value in someone that means a hell of a lot to her. Because of that she's also banned Dwarf fortress in her home.

I don't know how she handled the blocking, the proxy thing sounds about right though as I think we have something set up like that here more for security than anything. I'm no IT expert or anything.

Also I'd love to tell her the nice things some of you guys say, but a conditional of me being allowed to do anything here is I don't tell her anything about it.

Because spoilers are supposedly evil and ruin your enjoyment of stuff, or something. I dunno, can't tell myself, since I've never played a game without spoiling myself to everything that exists within it.

I'm surprised it hasn't been changed by the toad yet, because it is really pushing it (otherwise there wouldn't be so much discussion around it), but that probably just means nobody's reported it, so I guess it hasn't really bothered anyone.

While Toady might change it, it doesn't seem an enormous deal to me. We do use such language reasonably often, in jest or what have you. Ignoring the strictest interpretation of the guidelines, the only thing Toady responds to seems to be someone being seriously upset by something. Butts usually arent that upsetting.

We can always just parse it as a lovable sugar-coated equine. Which is amusing in itself.

Eh, a pretty big chunk of Undertale's pre-full release fandom consisted of homestuck people, who are infamous for consisting mostly of really odd manchildren who want/make porn out of anything they like, so its not really surprising :v

And ye, the thread title is a bit odd, but I'm also the kind of person who doesn't care about animal butts, fictional or otherwise, so eh.

Actual happy: came back from girlfriendland after staying for 3.5 days. Lots of fun, getting drunk and laughing like a dweeb. It was a good weekend.

Nah, I can understand it, it's kinda like as if a certain establishment banned your... Mother, let's say, forever, because of some perceived slight that you can't see, now, I can't personally vouch for your loving of your mother, but let's just say that she's helped you through some difficult times, and you love her very much, now, would you still go to that establishment? I'd honestly see the establishment in a much more negative light, so for me, probably not.

Maybe keep it all as a secret(?) for yourself to support and keep positive? :O
Better yet--dwell on the nice things and create nice things from yourself to help her when she gets down!

It's not actually forum drama.
To put the situation in point--it's how association and cognition works in part. Treasure a person, befriend one--then something bad happens to them: You get hurt in turn because of this connection :O Emotional connections power bonds.

It'll continue like this because of emotional connections, but its like a tree--you will always keep growing despite the thoughts at the moment. Always being open for connections--and bettering the ones you've got at the moment.

It's less 'drama for the sake of drama', and more 'protocol in facing attitude'. I don't know what really happened during that time, but things can and will get better in time--if such is being aimed for.

To put it into more detail: I feel really guilty having done nothing to PM LSP about the quirks in his attitude (despite being totally busy at that time and not even sure about the stuffs popping up). The feeling that I could've done something still lingers with me here. But this is just me making one post about this ._.

So in a happy way--I'm being more proactive.

Happy: We're clearing out the fallen trees in our backyard \o/ (though still awaiting coordination with our local Natural Resources department to actually move the tree resting on our house in question). Hooray helpful neighbors in...getting up a ladder and cutting each individual branch to lessen any harm the dead tree can do!
