It's not a value judgement, but if you need a special-snowflake tic to make people remember you, you probably aren't a very memorable person.

Most of the people I remember the most distinctly from here I remember because they had distinct personalities which shone through in what they said, usually in positive ways. Occasionally also because they had a distinctive avatar. Incidentally, if you want people to remember you, there's a ready-made system for that: pick an avatar which looks like something other than a blob of color or shades of grey.

But yeah. Even though I haven't talked with Scelly for ages, I remember him because of the fun we had playing Paranoia and for his excellent taste in webcomics. Even though Max White hasn't been on for months, I still remember him because he was a pretty decent guy and had a highly distinctive avatar that he never changed. Vector hasn't been on for months, but I'm sure that everyone who's been on the lower boards for more than a couple months remembers her.

The only tic I remember is ein's because god damn haha, that stirred up so much shit and was basically the precursor to this argument~

I don't remember a single person because they used colored text or some cutesy affix.

Yeah, now that you mention it--though again, I remember them more because people always got pissed off about it than anything else. It also felt genuine, too; I got the impression that they did it because they saw their posts as being little letters. Y'know, actual personality, as opposed to an adopted quirk.

it's literally just a thing i like. i enjoy colored text. that's literally the only reason i'm doing it. however, i will see what i can do to actually make it readable
