I don't know; I happen to like male genitalia, specifically my own. Maybe, overall, it wasn't the best choice, but I think it has a certain charm. I've had good times with it, made happy memories.

Come on though...male genitalia is obviously a late-implementation design change. It's in an awkward location, insufficiently ruggedized, and made largely out of repurposed elbow skin.

Many great things are implemented late. It's pretty much in the same location as the female version and is only slightly less ruggedized (genitalia are not generally known for being durable in either case). Plus, you can whirl it around like a mighty typhoon, which provides you and your friends with literally minutes of entertainment!

...How is it elbow skin, though? I'm...somehow curious.

Like swimming in predator infested waters. It's not like the platypus is going to see a predator in the water and beeline for it, so where would that predator be if it pursued? Near it's hind legs. Where its spurs are.
