Probably because he wanted it.
This, I'd guess. Congrats on getting it through, Max!

I got Skyrim to stop crashing, and all my mods seem to be functioning in harmony.

... now what am I supposed to do
Try playing them?
I'm not sure I understand. "Play"? What's that mean, in the context of a Bethesda game? Is it installing more mods, like the tea pickle recommends?
Find an ENB/a better ENB, then make a completely new modlist that meshes well with it. Install at least three major gameplay overhauls and make them compatible enough that the game doesn't crash. Play for 30 hours straight with no freezes or crashes. Ascend to godhood.

wait i just realized

...pretty sure this is a valid dwarf fortress creature class

Code: [Select]
[CREATURE_CLASS:KI_GROWTH_FUNCTION/ki_func=function(unit) local physAtts=unit.body.physical_attrs local mentAtts=unit.status.current_soul.mental_attrs return physAtts.ENDURANCE.value+mentAtts.WILLPOWER.value+mentAtts.FOCUS.value end]
...so I can insert somewhat limited* lua code into DF raws for purposes of easy general-case hardcoded stuff

for example:

Code: [Select]
loadstring(getSpecialCreatureClass(unit,'KI_GROWTH_FUNCTION'))()
ki_func(unit)

otoh that code is utterly impenetrable

*i cannot access tables using [], so no numbered arrays

Got to fire guns today! Pretty much the coolest thing I've ever done.

Huh, I guess I'm not using an ENB. The game looks awfully pretty without it, but then again it's also putting basically no stress on my machine so I could probably handle it. As far as major gameplay overhauls, I've got Perkus Maximus, Civil War Overhaul, Duel Combat, Complete Crafting Overhaul, pretty much the entire STEP guide, a character creation overhaul (Disparity), and Interesting NPCs all running alongside with minimum fuss at this point (among other things), though I played for only an hour. So I guess 1/3?

Although I did forget to run FNIS before I started so maybe that'll break something.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

Um... might want to dial back on thoughts like that. I know there's been trouble but that's probably, well, not something you want to indulge in.

If you can't understand why that second part of the post is inappropriate for the topic Yoink, you probally shouldn't be posting in this topic at all.

Okay GC, I edited it out.
Firing guns was still really really fun, though. Probably the main thing I was hoping to do whilst over here, and it finally happened pretty much by accident. I still smell of gunpowder and it's awesome. :D

My hands now smell of cinnamon and a vaguely-sort-of-vanilla-incense thing with a bit of grass in there. If standard gender roles are to come into play, this would probably work better as a woman's perfume when it's done, but I think it smells too good for me to care.

Finally got home from New Jersey, which has the worst drivers I've seen in my entire life. The wedding ceremony I attended was okay but I enjoy not having to drive behind people going about 20 miles an hour while the people in the lane next to you seem to think they're playing Need for Speed.
