Now that he's gotten over his fear, new cat turns out to be best cat. He's smart, friendly (even to the dogs, though they haven't caught on yet), pettable, and plays fetch.
You SURE this isn't an undercover dog?
Huh, that's just what Kevak asked.

Come to think of it, this cat also pants after protracted playing sessions, knows his name, and comes when called.

Cat, dog, whatever he is--treat him the best you can. :3

Happy: I was reaching into a mug to get my medications for the day (we store them in practical areas...), and as I was bringing out some paracetamol, a jumping spider plopped out of the mug and clung to the rim.

It stared at me.
I stared back o_o
And then I went eep by reflex of being scared by pushing the mug awaaaay.
Then I carried it outside and placed it on one of the nearby plants.
It was a jumping spider because it held up its frontal legs...and moved in a very calculating manner.
♥ Those creatures. And then fixed everything--glad nothing broke.
...But how did it get in that mug, I've no idea -.- That was on the dining table.

*badum-tish*
tell me something about birdhouses m8 i swer2memum
... what sort of birdhouses? I've actually made a couple of the gourd ones over the years, but that's not exactly carpentry. Just putting a hole in a dead bit of plant. Easy as the blazes if you've got decent sized gourds you can dry out and empty, though.

Think there was a proper wood one, too, at some point, well over a decade ago. Small and simple birdhouses are pretty simple to make, iirc, even if you're doing things slightly more fancy than just a box one.

Goodness. Sorry, Tiruin, I don't share your for spiders. You could even say I them.

My friends all remember a story, I don't remember it personally, but one of my classmates found a spider on her desk. While she was looking for a cup and paper to rescue it with, I apparently dropped the R, S, and T volumes of an encyclopedia on it. Utterly decimating the arachnid. I can't say I'm surprised when they talk about that. Creepy things are frightening.

This week one dropped on my neck from above. I freaked. I almost flipped the table over in panic, but three other people sitting there and a bunch of stuff on the table prevented my flailing from being effective. I know my chair was for sure knocked to the ground.  And the spider wound up as so much pulp sprayed across the screen tent. Ugh.

Sorry, I know I should be kinder to nature, but... eesh.

You were really stretching your limbs for that pun. It sounds rather forced and stiff, some may even say it's wooden.
