This morning, I went for a run in the misty, slightly rainy pre-dawn twilight. It was amazing.

Apart from the bit where it's impossible to see rises in the road and I nearly wrecked myself once, but otherwise it was awesome.

AP exam grade came in and my mom's happy. I'm hoping I don't fuck up talking to her about meeting friends. Perhaps I'll be able to do this and maybe things will work out.

Oh and I'm also pretty happy since today at the archery camp I'm an (assistant) coach at, a friend who I hadn't seen in months showed up and I was able to reconnect with her and also help* them which I'm especially happy about.

*Help meaning jump over a fence and search through a wooded area looking for arrows she missed, which was really fun since she came and was jumpy at things and also I made her laugh multiple times and maybe things are okay and I'm not completely useless.

My school newsletter mentioned my name because of how great I did at GCSE Business Studies. A year after it happened, but I'll take it anyway.

which was really fun since she came and was jumpy at things

Getting 5 on an AP test is a big deal, congrats!  Sounds like you're accomplishing a lot, really.

She came into the woods to help look for the arrows, which she didn't have to, and generally jumped at things like spiders and stuff which was funny

Thanks, though I don't strictly understand all the importance and weight of these things. But good things are good and this is undoubtedly good.

Summat like that. Glad good things are happening, I hope you can meet up with your friends.

Two completely unrelated things:
My application to one university has been acknowledged, which is good, because I thought it might not be.

I have submitted another short story to a magazine. I have reasonable hopes they will publish it (although I am prepared for the inevitable crushing disappointment when it is rejected).

Last year, 11% of the students in that particular exam got 5s, 20% got 4s, 21.1% got 3s, 18.4% got 2s, and 29.5% got 1s.
Oh cool, thanks for linking that. It's interesting and kinda surprising. I would have thought that less people got 1s, but I guess not.

Just rewatched Amadues. My god... F. Murray Abraham as Salieri is perhaps one of the greatest performances by an actor ever.

Don't underestimate the terrible quality of the American education system. Had an AP calc class years ago where the whole class of ~25 people got 1s on the exam, except for the one girl who knew enough from her own work that she ended up having to teach half the time when the teacher got bored or fucked up.

Convinced the instructor to let most of the class off on a test question that was poorly worded! \o/

I love these linen pants.  They're as light as wearing shorts, even walking in this heat.  They feel like good dress pants but I think they were probably $10 at a thrift store a couple years ago.  Jeans are cool during winter but these are so much more comfortable right now.
