Probably an environmental disaster as they saturate the air with poison to kill the buggers. Because apparently it's better for one's health to be constantly breathing fumes of something designed to kill things to death than to take a shot of something designed to protect people from disease.

California just passed a bill requiring all children to be vaccinated regardless of their parents beliefs, striking a mighty blow in favor of public health against quacks, pushy parents, and religious weirdoes

While I'm not an anti-vaxxer, I don't know that I'd celebrate such a heavy handed approach. Probably wouldn't need to if California didn't have more flakes than a cereal factory.

I do believe that this bill may include checking whether the person can not  medically receive vaccines or such. But yay health enforcement!

...You guys do have mosquitos there, right? Like, as bad as us a bit farther down in the Northern Hemisphere yet non-tropical with the four seasons and all? ._. I would love to study how creatures survive in snowy conditions, especially insects.

Re: Winter survival: Usually they don't. Either they migrate or only their (more durable) eggs/young survive.

Yeah, Canadian winter is a glorious time of little to no insects.

That said, places like Alaska and Montana have some ferocious mosquitoes in the summer.
