I began learning how to mod Dota 2 today.

I made an entire hero from scratch today. I coded her every ability manually. She works perfectly.

Dota started as a mod. And then Dota 2 was released as a commercial game. And now Dota 2 officially supports mods so that players can actually make their own heroes.

The circle is complete.

I finally got to sleep semi-properly today, managing to fall asleep at 04:00 instead of 07:00. For two days in a row I only managed to sleep in the mornings because of mosquitoes, all of which seem absolutely obsessed with going for the ear and nothing beyond the ear. And, as it turns out, the buzzing of the bastards can wake anyone from even deep sleep. Near 04:00 I managed to kill the one bastard that was keeping me up and finally got a decent rest.

Also, very glad I bought Red Orchestra 2. Jumped right in to the realism multiplayer and it immediately reminded me of ArmA, except with more spawnkilling. It took a minute to realize why, but then I figured out that it was all the needless deaths I died to avoid accidentally teamkilling while I was learning to distinguish uniforms.
