Characters I'm not allowed to play in Brawl because I always win: Meta Knight, Fox/Falco/Wolf, Link. Anymore I often play as Captain Falcon or Lucas.

I honestly think competitive gaming for competition's sake can go fuck itself. I honestly don't see the point in playing a game that isn't fun. I have no idea what a wavedash is and I don't ever want to find out. Yeah I'm probably crap at the game, but I don't care :P

I love me some Smash. I remember spending hours playing the original with my little brother on the N64 console they had in the local electrical store - My family went the playstation route rather than N64, soooo that was our only chance. Picked up the latest for my WiiU (Actually the reason I bought one) and my girlfriend and I can easily kill a couple of hours playing that.

Fallout 4 E3 trailers made me happy.

Sure, they're from E3, so they come pre-packaged with lies and half-truths, but, for five months, I shall have the warm glow of expectant optimism burning within my heart.

That's not really a problem about competitive, though, it's a problem about tryhards. I have seen people throwing down their iPad in rage because they missed a step in their perfect Cetus run. These people actually care more about winning and being good at everything than actually having fun.

Didn't we used to play video games to have fun?

There's more of us than you think. My guess is those of us who play to have fun are just too busy having fun to loudly denounce those who play to win.

Well, good art evokes emotion? I guess? No? No. I'm just going to sit here in the corner and pretend that everybody plays games to amuse themselves. Please, don't take my last shred of innocence...

You are all very good at arguing with people who don't exist.

Also, I didn't know winning and fun were mutually exclusive.

Personally, I find dicking around to be more enjoyable than trying to win.

That said, it's not as though I don't like winning, it's just that I suck at most games and tend to not care about the optimal way of doing things, which usually results in losing.

I believe it's less about "playing to win" than that some people get angry when they are denied their fix.

There's a good chance that my sister can get me a job where she works. I'd cross my fingers, but years of computer use have left them a little stiff for that. Crap.
