Making Hotline Miami levels using the hacked-in Alpha editor is fun in a really dodgy and prone to crashing way.
It's tickling my nostalgia for making levels in Timesplitters.

Hey Cinder, is that avatar new? Reminds me of when Allee used to cut out avatars from canoodle doodles, but she doesn't do that any more.

hoh boy

It finally looks like a bit of restitution is in sight for me. Finished two major journals today (uni stuff), so tomorrow, all i have to do is to go sign one of them, get that one turned in and then do a comparatively trivial exam that lasts a grand total of 30 minutes. I expect to be done with that by 10am. Then, i can go home and do fuck-all, since i've not been able to do that for a long time. >:C

... at least until i have to go do exams again which is really not far into the future at all

Is canoodle doodles what I think it is?
Because dang it all if that isn't the most adorably PC thing I've heard today.

Remember kids, it's only OK to be offensive if it trivializes our pain or otherwise exists as an ironic contrast to issues of greater importance.

It's a phrase that someone I know uses to refer to hentai mangas or individual drawings or whatever. I didn't realise what people call porn was such a contentious issue.

Y'know what makes me happy? Tea. Delicious tea.

In the days when Sussman was a novice, Minsky once came to him as he sat hacking at the PDP-6.
“What are you doing?”, asked Minsky. “I am training a randomly wired neural net to play Tic-Tac-Toe” Sussman replied. “Why is the net wired randomly?”, asked Minsky. “I do not want it to have any preconceptions of how to play”, Sussman said.
Minsky then shut his eyes. “Why do you close your eyes?”, Sussman asked his teacher.
“So that the room will be empty.”
At that moment, Sussman was enlightened.

I still plan on doing it, but I ran out of material that fits my criteria. Plus, the only time I get internet access is in public...

Making progress on the quests in my game.

That's a happy because it's possible to go for a week doing repetitive tasks without making any progress towards the next quest, simply because it requires SO MUCH of X.

Like cobblestone. It requires around 10 cobblestone to be able to make a cobble-generator (I figured out after the fact that I only needed 4), and until you have that generator it takes about 24 hours each to procure one cobble. Once you have the generator, though, you can bang out a hundred cobble in an hour. So once you have that you can finally make gravel->sand->dust->clay to make grout out of sand, gravel, and clay and use that to achieve the next quest. But once you make the smeltery out of that grout, it's so slow to make anything out of it. So you need to make more seared stone, and it's faster to use the smeltery to just turn cobble straight into building material than it is to hand-make it out of sand-gravel-clay.

So now that I've cleared three quests in one day I'm happy. Oh, btw, the game is Agrarian Skies Mod-Pack for Minecraft.

Meanwhile in pathfinder, we're playing a mythic campaign.
The party of four of us, level 7, mythic tier 4, just took on a level 20 lich.
After the fight we recieved roughly 100k experience, which is four levels. Level 11, bam, enjoy.
How this happened is one of the coolest things I've ever done in a pen and paper game.

... But that story can get told to the tabletop games thread.

<- Still does not understand how to install mods.

Seriously, the last time I looked it up, it looked like you needed to be able to program in Java to use mods.

Agrarian skies is a modpack that you can install by downloading a modpack launcher (I forgot if that one in particular was AT or feed the beast) and clicking the "install" button then clicking the "play" button
