Hard science is like a sword, and soft science is like fear. You can use both to equally powerful results, but even if your opponent disbelieve your stabs, they will still die.

Finished my typology final. 16 pages, cranked out in 10 hours, with a one-hour break in between to watch a tornado fail to materialize. (In my defense, I've never seen one and we had an "imminent tornado warning" that got called off.)

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

I decided to check just how well the ki system in the DBZ mod shows the difference between not-powerful and very-powerful foes by going on a rampage as a God of Destruction.

the military against me

me against the super saiyan god

i'd say it's working

that's not even an exaggeration the gamelog is hilarious

Quote
The Saiyan Tanner kicks You in the left upper arm with his right foot, but there is no force!

Meanwhile

Quote
The saiyan militia commander (Super Saiyan God) kicks You in the head with her left foot and the injured part explodes into gore!

Racism and Nepotism. Goooo.
Enter: the character of yours truly, Reginald-Jerome de Mans. That man was racist. And not just "damn immigrants" racist, no, he was proper, scary, "remove Untermensh from lebensraum" racist. He was a pampered scion of one of the Empire's noblest, snobbiest and most rabidly reactionary families who grew up in a society that already combined the worst aspects of XV century colonialism and XIX century racial theorism, which, combined, made him into the sort of a person that could be best described in the terms of the modern Earth as a "Nazi turbo cunt." And, of course, his status as a blueblood noble also came with a doting daddy, who used his influence to get de Mans appointed captain of the ISS Necessity after poor old Hawke caught a volley of musketfire to the chest. Reggie repaid his dear benefactor by genociding about 90% of the natives on the renaissance-level planet that his ship was orbiting at the time, looting their palaces and museums of any trappings of art that could be sold and then shipping the "lucky" survivors that were deemed physically attractive enough in chains to his family's stronghold as exotic sex slaves, before claiming their now-empty planet for the Terran Empire and deliberately underreporting the quantities of tritanium and dilithium crystals that were found on it so that his family's friend's mining operation could strip that world pretty much bare without paying taxes.

And that's before we get to all the torture and televised executions.

I was confused why I felt confused despite being happy about it, then decided to be happy instead.

Then my words got messy and made it seem the other way around. :P

I dunno, but sometimes I feel inadequate or jealous seeing the other forumites achieving like that. I mean, Putnam has got his mod groove ON, and Knit's got a group to play table-top games with, and it's awesome, and here I sit, trying to come up with the motivation to really do anything.

So I'm glad you're all happy, but the ._. face has it's own meaning for me today. Bluh.

I guess I should be happy, though. My friend is getting married on Friday and I get to attend. He's enough of a friend and a nerd like me that we actually traced it out and discovered that we were actually 7th cousins twice removed; very distant relations, and good friends, in other words.

man just a month ago i was depressed and telling meph in a PM that i'm quitting modding

but as it turns out I wasn't burned out on modding, just doing boring modding

like going through generated raws, merging the creatures into different castes of one and making an entity for it

that may sound exciting to some, but i guess i'm not really happy modding unless I'm doing something that:

1. literally nobody has ever done before, even if there's only a very specific use for it
2. that could broaden DF modding a bunch by its very existence

thus the DBZ mod having ki (which fits #1)

Sadly I haven't thought of that at the moment, was too busy being excited. Also my phone is really old and is not equipped with camera, so @_@.

And yes, they were (kind of) flying in formation. From what I've noticed: there were two pairs of big airplanes that were flying in front on each other (practicing air refueling?), then there were 2-3 formations consisting of 1 big plane with 2 escorting smaller planes, then a whole formation of 9 (they were far away compared to others, so I might be wrong here) planes, and then a pair of wings with four planes in each. There were about 30+ planes in total flying nearby for about three-four (maybe more, I haven't counted precisely) minutes. They definitely were practicing for the upcoming Day of Victory parade.

I got back the 9+ gigs of music that I was unable to access for a few years due to a combination of circumstances. Sooo much nostalgia...

Saw those today, too. It lightened up our not-so-interesting English class today.

Played Hearthstone with a friend in-person today. It was sooo fun :D much less frustrating than online games, and without all the fiddliness and bent cards and rule-checking of physical card games.
